Your web server can handle many requests/visits simultaneously per second. Suppose, if you have a visit per second from all over the world, how much approximately can you earn?
This post, similarly, gives a rough approximation, given the total bandwidth you can have per month (e.g. 5TB). Let’s recalculate this number if you know you have 1 visit per second.
1 visit per second = 3600 visits per hour = 86400 visits (page views) per day.
On average, you have a 1% to 2% CTR (Click Through Rate) and that we say, we have at least 864 clicks per day.
The average CPC (Cost Per Click) is 0.5 pounds (if you target US/UK/Europe visitors), then you have roughtly 400 pounds earnings per day,12K pounds per calendar month and you can actually make a living! If you have that amount of traffic, you probably need a better server, such as VPS (Virtual Private Server), Cloud Hosting, or Dedicated Server. This is due to the fact the traffics are unlikely to be distributed even in terms of 1 page view per seconds, and your server should be able to handle the peak times.
This is the minimal approximation, with that traffic, the earnings do not grow linearly but potentially exponentially. If you have 400 pounds earnings per day and you have 80K page views, your RPM (Revenue Per Thousand Impressions) would be 5 pounds, which is pretty good.
