At the end of last year, I started preparing for Microsoft certifications. Initially, I created a prompt that worked really well, but having to copy and paste it every time was a bit tedious. So I thought—why not turn it into a custom GPT? That’s how ExamGPT was born.
The setup is actually very simple. Go to ChatGPT/GPTs, click “Create” in the top right corner, and fill in the configuration. The main part is pasting in your prompt, giving it a name, and adding a few example inputs—for instance, something like: “I am taking Microsoft AZ-305.”
The results have been surprisingly good. Of course, a big part of that is due to how fast large language models (LLMs), powered by the Transformer architecture, have been improving.
Since building this, I have been able to use all my fragmented time to practice—whether it’s in the bathroom, before going to sleep, or even while accompanying my wife shopping. Another advantage is that you never run out of questions. Your progress is saved in the ChatGPT conversation, so you can always pick up where you left off.
ExamGPT can generate 30 random questions at a time. As long as it has seen the exam in its training data, it can usually cover it. Each question comes with four options, including both single-choice and multiple-choice formats. Whether you answer correctly or incorrectly, it provides a brief explanation. After every set of 30 questions, it gives you a score to indicate whether you’re likely to pass. For any questions you get wrong, it will repeat them in subsequent rounds—second, third, and so on—until you get them right.
The technology used here is just: Prompt Engineering + LLM Workflow Design + a Lightweight Agent. And the best part is that: I don’t need to maintain it and there is no server cost for me to pay. Everything is maintained by OpenAI.
Bookmarket ExamGPT
It is a very good method to learn from mistakes. I failed the Microsoft SC-300 exam the first time with 644 score. And i put the score report to ExamGPT to get a set of specific questions to my weakness.

You can custom the difficulty of the questions by additional prompts to ExamGPT e.g. “Hard Scenario Questions”
