Ordered Three 2TB WD HDD to prolong the life expectancy of HPZ800 Server

As I mentioned, I have ordered Three WD 2TB HDD to replace 2xSeagate 4TB HDD because the HPZ800 server does not support HDDs larger than 2 TB. I was told the seagate HDDs have in general a higher Average Failing Rate (AFR).

The HPZ800 Server has 4 SATA-II slots – the system drive I have replaced previously failed Seagate 2TB SSHD (Hybrid) with a SanDisk One Plus SSD – and am going to replace the rest 3 HDDs – which are all quite old – running for more than 5 years and recently two of them started to show yellow warning signs by CrystalDiskInfo disk monitoring software.

Never be too cautious – always have multiple backups for your important data – preferablly at least one cloud, one HDD and one portable drives.

I also replace the BIOS CMOS battery a while ago – which prolongs the life expectancy of the HPZ800 server for a few good years ahead!
