A scam email is an email message designed to defraud a recipient out of money or personal information. These scam emails may look like legitimate emails from businesses, banks, or even government agencies and can contain links to malicious websites or attachments with viruses that can steal information.
A blackmail email pops into my work email-address this morning, claiming that they have evidences of me watching P*rn… and threatens me that he will upload the video to friends, colleagues if I don’t send bitcoins in 24 hours.

You do not know me and you must be thinking why are you receiving this mail, correct?
The answer is, I positioned a tracker on a site that displays erotic videos, you used this web site to have good time (you must understand what I mean).
While you were enjoying porn, the computer began operating as a RDP (Remote Desktop) with a keylogger. Obviously, all cams & screen also began recording together and after that my tracker gathered all your family and work contacts from your system. That is how I know where to contact you.
I created a split-screen video – First part displays the video you were viewing (you have a fine taste ; )), and next part displays the recording of your web cam.
So, what should you do? I think, $ 300 is a fair value for for not sharing this video with your contacts. You have to the deposit through Bitcoin. My bitcoin address is wallet id:
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXYou have only 24 hours in order to initiate the payment. (I have a special pixel within this message and now I know that you are reading this e mail).
I will, no doubt, upload and send your clips to all including members of your family, colleagues if I don’t receive the bitcoins.
However, if you make the payment I won’t share it and I’ll destroy the videos at earliest.
If you want to have evidence reply with “Yes!” and I will send out your video recording to your 14 contacts.

subject: I RECORDED YOU!Hello there!
Unfortunately, there are some bad news for you.
Some time ago your device was infected with my private trojan, R.A.T (Remote Administration Tool), if you want to find out more about it simply use Google.
My trojan allowed me to access your files, accounts and your camera.
Check the sender of this email, I have sent it from your email account.
You truly enjoy checking out porn websites and watching dirty videos, while having a lot of kinky fun.
I RECORDED YOU (through your camera) SATISFYING YOURSELF!
After that I removed my malware to not leave any traces.
If you still doubt my serious intentions, it only takes couple mouse clicks to share the video of you with your friends, relatives, all email contacts, on social networks, the darknet and to publish all your files.
All you need is $1400 USD in Bitcoin (BTC) transfer to my account (Bitcoin equivalent based on exchange rate during your transfer).
After the transaction is successful, I will proceed to delete everything without delay.
Be sure, I keep my promises.
You can easily buy Bitcoin (BTC) here: www.paxful.com , www.coingate.com , www.coinbase.com , or check for Bitcoin (BTC) ATM near you, or Google for other exchanger.
You can send the Bitcoin (BTC) directly to my wallet, or install the free software: Atomicwallet, or: Exodus wallet, then receive and send to mine.
My Bitcoin (BTC) address is: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Yes, that’s how the address looks like, copy and paste my address, it’s (cAsE-sEnSEtiVE).
You are given not more than 2 days after you have opened this email.
As I got access to this email account, I will know if this email has already been read.
Everything will be carried out based on fairness.
An advice from me, regularly change all your passwords to your accounts and update your device with newest security patches.
What do you do when you receive a Scam Email?
I know it is totally a scam email because (that is too obvious):
- I don’t have a cam set up on my desktop, my camera is covered up most of the time.
- The email does not have a ‘pixel’ that could indicate you have read the email.
- I have always updated my anti-virus/firewall software to the latest – the risks of security breach are low.
- The email went straight to the spam.
I believe this type of emails are sent out everyday to quite a number of potential victims. My advices (even you did watch p*rn lately – but this is totally OK, in most regions in the world) are:
- do not respond to the email, and do not believe anything said in the email.
- do not send any bitcoins.
- do not be bothered with it, and do not worry a thing.
- report the email sender for phishing, you can easily do this by clicking report button in Gmail.
- don’t worry, and move on with your life.
Please note that the bitcoin address you are asked to sent bitcoin to may actually vary – the number of bitcoin addresses is huge enough (more than the total number of sands on the earth combined) that it won’t repeat itself and hard to trace (it is also very easy to apply one bitcoin account).
