I have just deployed a VPS instance in Singapore (Southeast Asia), where I believe the customers in China should have good connection speed. That is a site of Woocommerce and the main customers are from China. Previously they complain about the page loading speed although it seems the rest of the world do not have problems.
I need a cheap VPS, and unfortunately, there are no HongKong nodes provided by Vultr, but Singapore may seem a very good compromise. Tokyo instances are also good, but some reviews recommend Singapore instances over than Japan.
The cost is cheap… Just $5 per month (28 days) for the minimal specs, which gives you 1 core (2.4GHz), 740 MB RAM. The SSD space is 15GB. The monthly bandwith is 1TB. The charges will be calculated/updated on hourly basis. The additional optional charge includes $1 per month, auto backup, although I turn this off to save money. Two auto backups are kept and each time a new backup takes place, it overwrites the old one.
Another advantage of Vultr is that you can create up to 10 snapshots (the entire image of the server), and restore them later.
Additonal Free Credits
Click this referral link to signup Vultr to get $20 Free Credit! And also you can verify your twitter account, make a twit about Vultr, and follow them to obtain $3 credits.
Easy-to-use Dashboard
The dashboard management is super easy to use. It is straightforward, clear and powerful user interface.
Dedicated Instance
Vultr provides the dedicated instances (Dedicated Servers), but only at New York and Tokyo. The Dedicated Instances are for customers who do not want the noisy neigbours. I expect they are growing and have more servers worldwide, e.g. Hongkong should be a very competitive place to do the VPS hosting.
Ping Speed in UK
On Average 250ms compared to QuickHostUK (20-50ms). But it is acceptable since the main customers are from China.
Support Tickets
I sent two tickets so far and both tickets are answered within 5 minutes… This is super effcient!
