The kids enjoy their favorite content, like gaming videos, Pokémon, and Super Mario on the newly purchased LG OLED 65′ Smart TV, which is mounted in the kitchen/dining room.
One day, I accidentally noticed my wife using the TV’s built-in browser. She was navigating websites using the remote controller (which shows a mouse pointer) and typing on the on-screen keyboard to access some local video platforms. Then that sparked an idea: why not use this TV for solving coding problems? Without hesitation, I tried an old Bluetooth mouse and a KeyChron mechanical keyboard (which supportis both Bluetooth and Type-C). Unfortunately, the TV couldn’t detect either of these devices, which was a bit disappointing.
However, the TV displayed a list of supported Bluetooth devices. I ended up purchasing a more affordable Logitech M535 Bluetooth mouse and an Arteck keyboard for a total of £55. Apple’s Magic Keyboard and Magic Mouse 2 cost about £180 (99+79), which is significantly more expensive.
In practice, the TV’s browser runs a bit slowly, typing has a noticeable delay (a bit laggy), and the on-screen keyboard pops up frequently during input, requiring manual hiding with the ESC key. Overall, it’s good enough for solving easy LeetCode problems. I now teach kids programming during by solving a couple of leetcode problems during the meals.
Suggestions from others:
- “You could get a Mac Mini.”
- “Why not cast the MacBook screen directly?”
- “Since you’ve connected a keyboard and mouse, you could stream from your home PC and operate remotely.”
- “A small x86 mini PC for a few dozen pounds would work better.”
Sure, casting from a computer is an option, but my wife doesn’t allow a computer in the kitchen. The point here is using the TV’s browser directly (as a computer) with a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse, which is lightweight, simple, and convenient without any dependencies on the other external devices apart from mouse and keyboard.
The device you’ve previously connected to will connect automatically. To disconnect the existing connection, click “Disconnect.”
It is recommended to use products tested for compatibility with this device.
- Bluetooth Mouse: Logitech M535, Logitech MX Master 2s, Apple Magic Mouse 2
- Bluetooth Keyboard: Logitech K480, Arteck HB030B, Arteck HB192, Apple Magic Keyboard
- Bluetooth Gamepad: Sony DualShock 4, Sony DualSense Controller, Sony DualSense Edge Controller, Microsoft Xbox One S Controller, Microsoft Xbox Series X Controller, Microsoft Xbox Adaptive Controller, NVIDIA SHIELD Controller, Amazon Luna Controller, Shaks S3b, Shaks S2b, Nintendo Switch Pro Controller, Nintendo Joy-Con Controller, MOGA XP5-X Plus Controller
This feature is available only for Bluetooth-enabled models!
Connecting multiple Bluetooth devices may result in poor connection or improper operation.

The child is studying, and it’s convenient to talk about algorithms and programming with them.

Solving LeetCode on a 65-inch LG Smart OLED TV is quite a novel experience.

Teaching the child during meals can double as a review.

You can solve a problem while having a meal or taking a coffee break in the kitchen.
