The dedicated Graphic Card that comes with HPZ800 server is Nvidia Quadro 2000D, which is optimised for desktop applications such as CAD, instead of 3D gaming (but it can be used to run standard 3D games as well). So Quadro Cards are often used on Servers. I have got another dedicated Graphic Card as well, which is ATI Radeon 6700 and I want to make use of this besides the HDD as well.
It seems powerful video card because it is big 🙂
Both graphic cards use PCI-Express interfaces and, all I did was plugging the ATI Radeon card into the PCI-express and that is the hard work. I have 2 monitors connected to Nvidia card at first. Windows 10 found the ATI Radeon card with no problem.
The next thing is to go to AMD website to download the latest driver for ATI Radeon HD 6700 graphic card. And I re-connect one monitor from Nvidia to ATI Radeon (both have 2 DVI interfaces). The Windows 10 is clever enough to adjust the screen/display automatically, which means most of the time I didn’t have to configure. If you have to in some cases, you can go to Display settings to customize your display.
GPU-z detects that NVidia Quadro 2000D has CUDA support, of course from NVidia.
The software Speccy confirms the existence of both cards in system.
AMD Radeon HD 6700 card does not support CUDA. From the GPU Clock/Default Clock, it seems more powerful than NVidia Quadro 2000.
What now?
Parallel GP-GPU is quite an interesting topics. Bench-marking both GPU cards in some scientific tasks is of course on the TO-DO list.
